But what is GDPR?
The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are a set of regulations that became national law in all 28 EU member states on May 25th 2018. These rules are designed to upgrade the old privacy and data protection laws, and to give them more of a modern and digital spin. To cut a long story short, the EU is giving you the power to decide the how, why, where, and when of who has access to your information, and who collects your information. They are also giving you the ultimate right to ask what information a company has on you, and to instruct them to modify or delete it, free of charge, and without any interruption of services.
The GDPR is designed to give back the power to the people about how their personal information is collected, processed, and stored, and by who.
